This years patient survey
The Pine Street Medical Practice Patient Participation Group Report 2014-15
As you may know following the last year’s meeting and survey, the main thing that patients wanted to change was the telephone system. After looking around, we decided on a new system which was then installed, and has been running for the better part of a year. In that time we have had various comments about the system, which for the most part are positive. We did a survey which was open for some months, starting in November 2014 and finishing in February 2015. We discussed the results of the survey in the meeting with the Patient Participation Group on the 26th February 2015. We have included the minutes on the website, as well as a link to the survey.
The main things that came out of the meeting were that patients were happy with the new phones system overall, and it was a definite improvement on the old one. It was agreed that it may be helpful if a message was given that patients may wish to ring back after 10 am if it is for a non-urgent matter as the phones are quieter after 10 am. The phone message will be changed to include this.
The late surgeries were also discussed. They were on Mondays and Thursdays but have been moved to Tuesday and Thursdays, as this gave more access to more people. It was agreed that the late surgeries would stay on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Online booking was discussed. It was noted that although booking had been available for some time, they weren’t being booked up. It was agreed that this would be advertised more prominently on the website and jayex board.
The patients survey was discussed with overall improvement noted in the comments on the phone system. There were no specific concerns or suggestion otherwise.
The main priorities agreed going forward were to make sure the phone system is used to its fullest capacity, late evenings to stay on Tuesdays and Thursdays but to monitor opinion and change again if appropriate, and advertise online booking more widely so patients are better informed of this option.
We will be trying to achieve this over the coming year. We will be asking your opinions during that time to change if necessary to make sure we are most usefully serving our patients’ needs.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey. We will be doing a new survey in the next few months to see how well we are managing to fulfil our goals.
